Well, I already know what I need and how much it will cost me time and money wise to turbo the 7mge. I think I'm gonna stick with that plan, but not till after I do some head work first (valves, springs, cams, cam gears, and of course the gasket itself).

That's right with head. It's the weakest place in 7M engine.
Don't forget to buy new head bolts, it's very important. And if I was in your shoes, I'd inspected cylinder block, and changed piston rings, con rod and main bearings to be sure in engine for 100%...especialy if your gonna to put a turbo on it

I'll look into that as well, but I have a spare head, so I'll work on that first. I plan on getting the hks gasket and using the arp head studs. With that combo, the gasket should last for awhile, espaecially since I plan to only run like 7-9 psi.

I was planning on going with the arp studs and hks gasket when i do the head gasket. I'll look at the block/bottom end when i swap the heads.I can't really do that now because my supra is my daily driver right now until I fix my accord. I going to start with the head work tho, since i have the spare head laying around in the garage.

By the way. Which cams are better? Crower 264, or Crower 272?

Yeah the GTE is FAR cheaper than building a GE into a turbo motor. Do you know all the parts that make a GTE what it is as opposed to a GE? Crazy parts to make it reliable.
I suggest you find a 7MGTE, and swap your GE for it. MUCH LESS HEADACHE. I was gonna do the same thing, but I was told by numerous others who tried it to do the swap instead, but I have a 90. So the mounts for the 1JZ are there. I just have to worry about wiring and drivetrain. |

The wiring for the 1JZ isn't that hard really as long as you take the time like I did and put in new harness plugs instead of soldering the connections for the four plugs you have to replace. I just bought some harness plugs that had enough pin holes to work and then bought the pins and did mine that way. As for the main engine harness you don't have to extend it you can always use the tuck like most people do it helps keep the integrity of the original harness.
