Well then I would recommend buying a clip because you will need the body harnesses and it is also nice to see what it needs to look like when your done. Getting a clip is gonna be fun and expensive. Then you need to decide if you want to use the hydro fan or get a electric or go with the 2JZ clutch fan. I would recommend going to driftmotion to get a throttle cable, power steering line, and other things like the engine mount adapters. Then decide if you want to extend the engine harness or cut a new hole in the firewall. What I am basically getting at is getting the clip and motor is not even half of the stuff you will need to worry about. It does get costly and another thing to think about is did the place you got the clip look at or change out the caps in the ECU. Pretty much from what I have seen and even on mine 9 times out of 10 they will fail and your car will become a mosquito fogger. Most of the time you can find someone selling a 1JZ converted car for less than it would cost to do it yourself. But then again most people wont buy one that is already done because they dont know much about the car. Like me I tried to sell mine and all I found were people wanting to go on a joy ride but they found they werent allowed to drive just ride. I have put to much work into my car to have someone dog it.

Oh, it's very expensive operation...
In Russia it costs about 4-5K $ depends of the cars year. 87' car will need to make handmade engine mounts... Your car a/t or m/t? If m/t, yuo'll need 1jz clutch bell for w58 gearbox...it costs about 400-500$

nevermind, I was thinking it would cost around $2k. I guess I'll just turbo the 7mge. By the way, it's a 5 speed.

Well, I already know what I need and how much it will cost me time and money wise to turbo the 7mge. I think I'm gonna stick with that plan, but not till after I do some head work first (valves, springs, cams, cam gears, and of course the gasket itself).

That's right with head. It's the weakest place in 7M engine.
Don't forget to buy new head bolts, it's very important. And if I was in your shoes, I'd inspected cylinder block, and changed piston rings, con rod and main bearings to be sure in engine for 100%...especialy if your gonna to put a turbo on it

I'll look into that as well, but I have a spare head, so I'll work on that first. I plan on getting the hks gasket and using the arp head studs. With that combo, the gasket should last for awhile, espaecially since I plan to only run like 7-9 psi.

I was planning on going with the arp studs and hks gasket when i do the head gasket. I'll look at the block/bottom end when i swap the heads.I can't really do that now because my supra is my daily driver right now until I fix my accord. I going to start with the head work tho, since i have the spare head laying around in the garage.

Buy a *7mgte*, unless you plan on buying everything exactly down to the needle, 7mge's don't have the oil sprayers in the block, trust me you want those. Other thing is, you will need to rebuild the engine if plan to turbo it, and usually that requires you to remove it, so why not swap it with a 7mgte.
