MK3 Cieling lights, easy but help...

I had the same problem with mine and i just re-wired them..
Find a good ground somewhere down in the drivers kick panel
get a negitive from the floor board light
get a positive from the fuse box
pop off cover that goes over the whole light
put your negitive from ground to where the lights are grounded

then their are to other wires that come in from the factory wiring. cut those and tape them off. then i dont remember what colors the wires were but it shouldnt be hard to figure out which one goes where..m its easy

I actually tried wiggling them and it worked. Problem is, I will put it all back together and the light works. But I guess it de-wiggles itself (lol) and doesnt work again. And getting the light cap off isnt exactly easy.

BTW is there a special way to get the bezel (cover) off the lights without just pulling? Cuz im marking it up a lil (slightly, but im a perfectionist)

That's the exact problem I had. It really depends on how much work you want to put into it. I ended up just wedging a piece of cardboard and haven't had any problems. If that did work I was going to cut the wires and solder them on or solder on some quick connectors.

Its the piece of crap rivets. If you take it apart and put pressure on the rivets it usually will work. So i just re-wired them, easy fix and HERE is a whole article on this dome light issue.
