Need to get it out and drive it more. Really only drive it to special occations. Car meets, drag strip, cruise ins, around town, funerals...lol Have to finish off the paint and get a new windshield also. Kind of stopped after I got it running. Just parked it in the garage. Besides, it's 1 of 8 cars I own. More pics to come...

Still think the whole concept is stupid. I have no respect for American metal. Sure lots of people love them but that is why other people buy Toyota Cars. My last GM was a 89 Firebird and it was a mechanical disaster, There was a rattle in the back when new. Someone had put a beer can in the rear quarter panel between the back glove box and quarter panel. Must of happened in the factory in Canada. The car went through a alternator and battery religiously every 2 to 3 years. Just about every system and sub system did not work right. I kept the stupid thing for years. Sold it on ebay last year and saw it headed for the Mexican border and good riddance!
So if you luv GM metal so much why do you want a Toyota shell?

The car companies go through a lot of effort in designing their cars. They do not just drop an engine into a car. There are a lot of things to thing about. It could be dangerous to do your own design without engineering support. Thus is the main reason for my dislike. I would be against putting a Supra engine into a Camero.

This thread is almost depressing to read.... partly because everybody is bashing on this guy, and partly because of what hes doing to his Supra...
I admire how he continues to post up and push through his project despite the hate from everybody towards it, and I also admire his way of cheaply getting a dead car back to life. HOWEVER, I can see how swapping in an inferior engine and a roller paint job could be a great and cheap way to fix up an old toyota CAMRY but it kind of hurts me inside to see that being done to a SUPRA. ![]() On the bright side, at least this means that another supra shell will be actually used and hopefully maintained opposed to sitting and rusting/breaking down in somebody's garage or yard. |
