1jz for sure. Better tech, new design, stronger internals, smoother power, better for daily driving. Ditch the 7m if you can and never look back.

Just answering honestly. 7m's cost alot of money to make solid. 1j is far superior in terms of dd, and bpu upgrades.

Myself..... I have only played with the 7m.....its strong and reliable under 500hp...
If your car is in nice shape and origanl from a stand point of value the 7m rebuilt right might bring more money in the long run...as there are fewer and fewer all orignals left... but as stated the 1j is newer engine.. better built from factory then the 7m was... But if in all honesty you want to swap it and really hold value and desirablity of car... 2j is the only way to go...:} everyone has done the 1j swap because people dont seam to beable to build a 7m to hold up.. If all you want is 400hp then personaly id stick to the 7m...thats just my opinun |
