Default 2.9 Liter?

I was told by a friend there were differences in engine size throughout the MKIII generation. I googled some stuff, and now I'm coming up with info that says the MKIII gen. only produced a 2.9 liter engine? True? What are the differences in the years, if any?

mkIII were all 3.0L. its like 2997cc or something, I forget exactly. only 2 engines are 7m-ge and 7m-gte, both are the same block just different internals and the gte is turbo.

Thumbs down

yes. all of that info that you "researched" is definitely wrong. supras of all mk3 are only 3.0 liter.

Not quite, the 1JZ-GTE was a 2.5L, the 2.0L was the 1G-GTE, also a twin turbo engine found the the J-Spec Supras.

As for the 4 cylinder, I have heard people throwing the idea of a turbo Celica/MR2 engine in a MKIV Supra for drifting since it weights a lot less than the 2JZ.

seems like they always get the goodies with different engine setups and really cool drift tracks, ECT...
