Default Broken trip odometer?

I've got a 1992 Supra, and yesterday I noticed the trip odometer seems to have stopped working. The odometer and speedometer are working fine, but I noticed the trip odometer froze at the 100 mile mark. I use this to keep track of how much gas I've used, as my gas gauge is faulty (except for the gas light). If anybody can please suggest a fix, I would greatly appreciate it.

mine froze up once i just hit the button to restart it and it started going again. The last number on it sorta came off track a little bit keeping it from moving.

I hit the reset button on it once and after it reset, I went about 1.9 miles before it froze again. Next trip I reset it again but this time it hasn't moved from 0, even though I logged about 5 miles onto the regular odometer.

These cables aren't really designed for 15+ years of use.

Just break out the tsrm and locate it and remove it and order a new one from your local dealership.

Once you replace it..., it should be as good as new.

Mine hasn't worked since I bought the car and it's never been an issue.
With gas prices climbing such as they are I can see where someone would want one that works.

Once you have a new cable, this should be an easy fix.

Hopefully so, thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into getting a new cable and replacing the old one soon.

Why would a new cable fix this problem? His speedo cable is obviously working fine if both his speedometer and odometer are working

Just a suggestion but you might want to fix the gas gauge while you're in there aswell.
