They all work when the brakes are applied. I have heard it could be the wrong bulb is this true? But the light is for the brake lights right.

Maybe it's your reverse lights.

I remember seeing that symbol in a 007 James Bond film, Bond was driving an Aston Martin, its something to do with squirting oil out the rear, or a warning to tell you that the rear bumper is about to fall off. Although I think supramastic is right, it’s a rear brake bulb failure warning light. If the bulbs are ok then is most likely a bad/corroded connection in the bulb fail unit module, which is located on the right hand side (looking from the rear) near the rear light cluster. On the UK models it’s a blue box that often becomes wet due to a hatch leak.
