Exclamation Questions on buying a 88 MKIII Targa Turbo

Well my friend introduced me to this guy with a fairly clean mkiii only downside to me is that the motor is pulled and disassembled, he has everything needed to get it running just dont have time to do it, he is throwing in an apex'i n1 exhaust, boost gauge, piston rings, oil pump, water pump, and a stock head gasket. He has the manual transmission for it and everything.

He is selling it to me for $1,300 with him taking it to my house and everything

How hard would it be to assemble the motor and drop it in?
Is this a good deal?

Opinions and information will be very much appreciated!

Sounds like a great deal if you know how to build engines, etc. Do it right and you could end up with a very nice, dependable sports car.

Toyota used a LOT of high-quality parts in the Supras. They just screwed up on the head bolt torque.

Definitley not a matter of time to do it.

More like tired of doing it over and over again.

You have no clue as to what kind of nightmare awaits upon rebuilding an engine you did not tear down.

Don't walk...., RUN. Away from this one.

It'll look really clean sitting out in your back yard or in the garage on jack stands while you kick yourself in the arse for every getting involved with it.

IF you must have a supra atleast find one that's on its' last leg instead of 3 tires in the grave.

it's worth $1300 for the parts alone. and that is what i would use it for.

OR

take a very slow tedious time going over every inch of it before putting it back together. it's a PROJECT car. take your time and do it right. DO NOT RUSH IT. It's goin to be awhile before she's street ready

Parts car is dead on accurate, as is project car.

Pain in the ass is what you'll be calling it, lol.
