Default Exhaust Cat Fitting

Not sure if anyone can help with this one, I removed the exhaust when pulling the engine out some time ago. Refitted the engine and exhaust but I now have a lot of vibration from the centre part of the exhaust pipe, so much so the 2nd cat knocks on the heat shield bolt attached to the underside of the tranny tunnel. This weekend I will be removing the exhaust and checking all the rubber hangers/brackets holding the exhaust to the body. My question is; does anyone know which way up and which way round the 2nd cat should be fitted, looking at the photo, is the front to the right and should the heat shield seen attached to the cat face the underside of the body. Ignore the second pipe in the photo, that’s just a standard test pipe.

For your question. The heat shield should be facing down. The only way i have seen to identify the front/rear of the cat is to look at the openings. The front of the cat has a little bit of protruding pipe sticking past the flange, whereas the rear of the cat does not, and it just a hole. Unless you see a marking of some sort with an arrow and or an F or R

I don’t have many like the one posted, but I have lots of BHG and Big end repair pic`s. The problem is there are lots of very sad people in the world that think is clever to post crap like this guy Pereftiyo this is the third sad twat in as many weeks. To give out a pssword would be asking for trouble. Fortunately the admin moderators remove them before they clog up the post. Thanks for you offer and interest, but I will be starting up a website for the very purpose you mentioned, I'm starting a another BHG repair shortly, I was thinking of doing a video clip for downloading.
