Unhappy Mk3 Turbo Problems

I just bought a '87 mk3 turbo, and the car drives great, but the issue is that the previous owner swap the mass air-flow from a ls400 in to the car, so now when i start it up it wants to cut off at idle, He claims because that engine has been rebuilt and upgraded that the timing is off on the car, I think in need a upgraded fuel system to compensate for the extra air into the engine, has anyone has this issue or any solution issue number 2 is the 1st owner of this car i guess wanted white trim gauges and got a custom 1 off another mk3 but this retarted got it of the N.A mk3 now my gauge read top speed 140mph, i wanted to know if there was a place i can get the OEM factory gauges.

The Lexus AFM *housing* is a popular swap for the stock KVAFM's housing. It'll let 25% more air in, but requires you to upgrade your injectors as well, 550cc injectors are what you'll need.

Might as well check the timing since the previous owner mentioned it as well. Don't forget to set the TCCS to the diagnostic mode before setting the timing... and check for error codes while you're in there.

As for the gauge, some MKIII's came with 150MPH gauges and others with 160MPH gauges. You need to swap the whole gauge, not just the face... and the gauge includes the odometer, I hope you didn't buy the car based on the low miles.

52's common enough. The wires running from the knock sensors to the ECU degrade and cause too much signal loss... that's the most common reason for that code anyway. One or both of the knock sensors could be bad. Do a search here or over at SupraMania for "knock sensor rewire"... there are a couple walk throughs posted. This code may be solely responsible for your idle issues... and once corrected the car should run better in all cases. This code causes the ECU to add a lot more fuel and pull a significant amount of timing as it operates in a "safe mode".

The code 43 is another thing. having any trouble with your starter? If your starter functions fine and you're not push starting the car this code is, again, most likely due to faulty wiring. I'll post more info for you later, but basically you need STA at the ECU should be at 12v when the engine is cranking... if it's not the ECU can act odd in a number of ways.

i was looking around and it might be the alarm that disable the engine, cause when i lock the car, and then open it back up the alarm goes off until i put the key in the ignition, i don't have the factory key so i am guessing that might be and issue to
