Drop the tank, look at the fuel filter on the pump.

Sounds like you could possiblry also have tainted gas or condensation in the tank.

If this is it a can of heat should solve the issue. Let's hope it's that easy.

well i put about five gallons of 91in it.when i changed the fuel pump it came with a new strainer. what is "heat" some kind of fuel treatment.the thing that confuses me the most is it ran fine before he changed the power stearing line and now it wont barley rev to 2500 unless i give it a little shot of carb cleaner than it will rev fine

i looked at all the lines and none of them seem to be broken but there are two lines going to the water tempature sens. that are off but pluged i dont think those being off would effect how the car ran. there is one more thing disconnected its a red box under the intake on the driver side it has a vac line going in and a place for one to be going out but its not there and i dont see anywhere that it could go. what is that red box is it some kind of fuel managment setup ?

thanks for all your help

ohand i had one more question is there a place to put a fuel pressure gauge on that car any where?
