Hey, I'm New.

Hey, I'm Nick. I just sold my 1994 Acura Integra GSR (I miss it everyday) and I am going to pick up my buddy's turbo MK3 in a little bit. I was wondering though, does anybody recommend a newer, quicker spooling turbo that I can slap on this bad boy?

supramacist 03-12-2008 07:44 PM

HAHAHAHAHA That's funny.

Nothing and I mean nothing just slaps onto this car.
You are going to wish you would have stuck with what you knew.

Welcome and good luck.

The Supra Villain 03-12-2008 07:51 PM

Haha...that was not the answer I wanted to hear. Haha...Maybe I'll just stick with the stock turbo and go with a nice downpipe/exhaust combo. Anyone recommend anything worth taking a look at? I'm thinking either a Blitz or HKS cat back. Any idea's on a good downpipe? I'm new to this turbo stuff. Honda N/A is all I know. (Haha)

supramacist 03-12-2008 07:58 PM

You should go hks all the way.
You should pay them to do it.

That way when it fouls out. They will fix it.
Not you.

Autech makes nice down pipes.
They build gt championship cars.

You new cats should have gone out and bought a nismo 350z.
Nothing much left to do to them except add turbo.

The Supra Villain 03-12-2008 08:13 PM

Haha. I don't think I could drop almost 40,000 on a 350. Especially since this MK3 is only costing me $2700 AND it hasn't even broke 100,000 miles yet!
Btw- What did you mean by "You should pay them to do it"...Like have them install it or what?

suprabeast 03-13-2008 02:46 AM

go full custom exhaust

mkiiisupra 03-13-2008 04:03 AM

Your getting yourself into a lot and if you dont read before hand you will waste your money ;)

supramacist 03-13-2008 05:52 AM

You can't get the nismo z for 40k unless you're buying 2 of them.

I need a porsche forum:(

Ignore Supramescist unless hes being serious, most of us like him but he is rather sarcastic. Anyway congrats on your new MKIII, but Supramiscist is corrent, nothing just "bolts onto this car. There are alot of things to consider.
1. Change the Head Gasket immediatly, MKIII's are netorious for bhg's (blown head gaskets) and you dont want to experience one in our cars, trust me I have had it twice and other problems come with it. I would suggest spending the extra dough and buying a metal head gasket. Especially if your going for higher horses.
2. What is your budget? Be realistic, its worth it. Put money slowly into your car, dont go all out at once and find out you cant finish your surrent project.
3. HKS is good, but look around a little and do some research. Check otu diffrent sites and see what worked best for other people. Finding a winning combo in our cars isn't difficult but you have to know what your doing, you cant just bolt on a T whatever turbo and turn it up to 15PSI and expect your car to run great, you blow a head gasket run into fuel cut, a whole bunch of stuff.
4. Cold Air Intakes are usually a good first mod, alot of people go with the K&N FIPK kit but myself and others take it a bit furthur and route it into the inside of the bumper. After that go with the downpipe and work your way to a Lexus AFM with 550cc Injectors then you can move to a higher turbo.

Like I said it is what you WANT to do and what you can REALISTICALLY can do. I wish you the best and look forward to your updates.

Thanks Raven. The Mk3 is going to be a daily driver at the moment. Later on down the road I want to try (<--Keyword) to do a 1jz-gte swap into it. But for right now, I might just stick with CAI at the moment. Haha
