Default Help, Lost Keys

I lost my keys to my 89 Supra and can't find the spare. Can a dealership make one for me if I give them the VIN # or will it be much harder than that?

if your doors are unlocked you can just get a new ignition that will come with new keys, but you`ll have to change your locks, and the keys wont match... i had a car like that once, not a supra though :S Best of luck.

Default Thanks

I hadn't even thought of that. But does anyone know if a Toyota Dealer can help?

Default Trunk key

I bought an 861/2 Supra and previous owner said trunk lock not working. I went to toyota and was told Supra was a one key set-up. So I thought I would pull the trunk cylinder and have it replaced or re-keyed. After removing all the plastic molding, I still do not have access to cylinder. Suggstions please.

IIRC the exterior panel has to be removed (just a few nuts on the inside to pull it) to access the cylinder... it's been a long time since I've pulled one, but it was pretty easy... They're also cake to rebuild if the cylinder itself and housing aren't too worn down.

Thumbs up

I worked for Toyota in the 90's and there is a code tag on the p/s lock cylinder that the dealer can reference to cut the proper key...
easy fix IMO.
