To figure out what type of tranny you have, follow these simple steps:
1. Walk out to your car. 2. Unlock and open the door. 3. Look at the shifter, it should be located in between the two front seats, sticking up out of a bunch of plastic and vinyl trim pieces. 4. Read the lettering on and near the shifter: If it says 1-2-3-4-5-R, on the top of the shifter it is a MANUAL. If it says P-R-N-D-2-1 to the left of the shifter, it is an AUTOMATIC. 5. You can also tell by counting the pedals, checking for a dipstick, or looking at it. If you have a manual, its the r154, automatic is a540e. A 1jz bellhousing is required to use the r154 with the 1jz or 2jz engine. Ray.
