one month ago my half brother, gave me his 1989 White toyota supra wit Momo rims. The car runs fines and is very clean, but the motor has 212,000 miles on it, he told me the hg was changed 5 months ago wit aluminum hg.

Anyways should i rebuild it? if so how much do u guys think its going to cost?

i want my car to be fast, but not too fast. like 300whp?

well if the hg was changed 5 months ago and theres no probelms with it i would leave it alone but if you want to be in the 300 hp range i would say if the motor is mechanically sound i wouldnt touch cause if memory serves me correct the stock internals can withstand up to 550hp?? correct me if im wrong guys but then i would go with some simple upgrades such as a lightweight racing fly wheel and racing clutch new exhaust sytem to open up the exhaust and let it flow if your turboed go 3" i would say thats what i go with and remove the cats if you can then cold air intake system manual or electronic boost controller right now im running 12-13 psi on the stock ct26 turbo and it boosts good then get a new intercooling system i went 2 and a quarter not to bad of turbo lag but it kick in hardrr now but i would say those are some decent upgrades you could go with to get to the 300 hp range and also get a fcd if you dont want to hit fuel cut im using an hks fuel cut defencer

I myself would think upgrading the exhaust from the turbo back would be ideal for first upgrade. LIPP makes a extremely less restrictive turbo/downpipe elbow. Then a full three inch downpipe. After that, as cyanide said, remove cats and full three inch exhaust.

And if you are planning to run higher boost I would consider a blow off valve, I don't know how much the stock recirculation valve can hold, if you still have it on.

As for complete rebuild, expect to have the car offline for a few weeks if you have all the rebuild stuff. I looked into this a little but it could be anywhere from like $3000 to $5000 depending on what types of parts you get and how much machine work would cost. But if the car runs fine I would leave it the way it is.
