I Need Help!!

i just bought a 88 turbo...im new to the supra game so.bare with me...i love the car ...its a 88 and its got some intercooler piping and a loud blow off valve anmyways my problem is that the car wont charge...i put a new alternator and battery and it killed my battery....the car has some stuff wired into it..and the starter solinoid is bypassed so i have to hit a switch to start it...but why would it kill the battery with a new alternator ??? i bought them both at the same time. the battery is a 520 cca ...is that to low?? o i also found a peice of wire in the fuse box under the hood replaceing a relay....its the one on the right side next to the other two on the left of the fuse box. anyone who can help please do
