Default 7mgte or 1jz-gte???

i know that the 1jz is a jdm engine and the 7mgte a usa spec, though i'd loke to know which one is more powerful (i know jdm model cars are usually better, but by how much in hp? :huh: )

if the 2.5 is capable, you may be able to bore out the cylinder to make it a 2.6 or 2.8. it would change your compression ratio, but you'll gain power in different rpm ranges.

yep the 1jz has a headstart on power... 50bhp, they're awesome engines.. great for the track

but 7m power is where it's at :lol:

the 1jz for being .5L less is quite surprisingly powerful... but power can also be made from the 7mgte

check out www.7mpower.com hehe

No. A lot of people assume that because of the .5l less. But the jz actually puts more to the ground then 7m.

But the 7m makes max torque 400 rpm sooner then 1j which is where the confusion starts

Factory specs at crank,
1jzgte= 280 HP. At 6200 rpm 268 ft lbs. At 4800 rpm Now the factory way under estimated this motor. Mine 100% stock put down. At the WHEELS. 285 HP. 272 ft lbs

7mgte= 232 HP. At 5600 rpm. 240ft lbs at 4400 rpm
