ok, the bits where it says the 1ggeu, 1ggte, 1jzgte, etc, is the engine code. thats what the engine is called. for toyota, the first two or three parts are the base engine code, for example, 1g, 7m, 1jz, etc. usually the engine code is spelt out 1g-gte, the bit before the dash is as above, the bits after are differences, the main ones are head type, turbo, things like that. head type is the first letter after the dash, turbo is the T. the bits that are written next to the engine codes are engine size and wether it's turbo'd or not.

what it all boils down to is what engine you have in your car, and lets you know what engine you need to get parts for if your upgrading on it.
