Hey i havent posted here much but i read them alot, And obviously Spurra girl is very knowledge able about Supras and i ahve been reading what she sayd about the engines and things and i just cant understand what shes talking about.
For example there is a thread under Faqs titled "Supra engines" where she writes

1ggeu - 2lt no turbos attached
1ggte - 2 twin turbo
1jzgte - 2.5 twin turbo (7m power all the way baby LOL)
7mge - 3lt no turbos attached
7mgte - 3lt single turbs

most ppl in the states are now looking at doing the 1jz conversion and are also looking at doing 1.5jz's which is the 2jz block from a mkiv supra and the 1jz head
more power, more torque bla bla bla 1j power

I have no idea what like any of that means  and was just wondering if some one could tell me, because i am planning on increseing my hp and torque lol like every one els but i dont know what to do and i know it says right ther but I dont know what it says. So if some one could explain to me what it all means i would be very greatful.

Thanks for your time. :D

ok, the bits where it says the 1ggeu, 1ggte, 1jzgte, etc, is the engine code. thats what the engine is called. for toyota, the first two or three parts are the base engine code, for example, 1g, 7m, 1jz, etc. usually the engine code is spelt out 1g-gte, the bit before the dash is as above, the bits after are differences, the main ones are head type, turbo, things like that. head type is the first letter after the dash, turbo is the T. the bits that are written next to the engine codes are engine size and wether it's turbo'd or not.

what it all boils down to is what engine you have in your car, and lets you know what engine you need to get parts for if your upgrading on it.

in theory, the head has a smaller chamber increasing compression. the higher compression gives better torque. the only thing im not sure of, is if the stroke is the same between the 2.
