WOW! I am very jealous of this swap. Excellent job. I wish I had the funds and time to get some of my projects moving along... I should probably just start by cleaning my garage up a bit. I need a welder too.

I picked up a Lincoln wire feed 140. I love it. It's perfect for exhaust and sheet metal.

Very nice. That engine fits so well in there. So in the end how much custom work was involved in dropping the engine in?

CanadianBak'inSupra 09-29-2013 12:43 AM

Just the engine 100$ for mounts, about 75$ to relocate the oil filter(hits the frame/cross member).
The expensive part was everything behind the engine.
I know now that a r154 bell housing using fork style release bearing is the best way to go. I went w58 so far I'm not happy with my slave cylinder. I may have to pull the trans again and add shims. Should have measured the travel.

CanadianBak'inSupra 07-06-2014 04:59 AM

Big news on the project. Shimmed up the quarter master unit inside the bell housing. And I was driving the car for 2 weeks. Lost my license due to prior infractions so I have parked it for the year. I hope to update with good pictures soon!
