my cousin said that if u wanna drift good u really dont need the best car. of course with the parts it helps but he thinks people with much experience and knowledge about there car rite now then they should know how if they just try it. have u tried drifting yet?
I tryed it back in 2000, I ended up in someones flower bed... took out a 25mph sign and got the hell outta there. Make sure you try it somewhere safe, like um NOT ON THE STREET my $.02

First of all if you want to drift i wouldnt use the supra. The supra is heavy and expensive to maintain if you damage parts of it ( which happends often while drifting) try geting a 240sx those are cheap on ebay!
i have a supra and 240 and the 240 is by far the best for drifing

any ways..
The most important modifications to a drift machine (and the best way to get it sideways) is to mod its Suspension, it tires, and its brakes.

SUSPENSION
For the suspension start off with lowering it. This is the cheapest way to improve your suspension. then look into geting a strut brace, these do alot and are not to hard on the wallet. If you still have money to spend go for sway bars. also look at geting some progressively wound springs because these are way better then the stock springs that come with the supra..

Tires
when you first start drifing DO NOT buy new tires.
you go through your first set of tires VERY quickly trying to learn the basics.
after your first set is gone then go for some soft z rated slicks these are the best for drifting B)
I even know alot of guys who go to the junk yard to pick up tires for a fun day of drifing.

Brakes
first of all you will want to buy sloted roters. brakes slow your car down by transfering kenitic energy to the brake pads which causes alot of heat! sloted roters release the heat beter then plain ones.so your brakes wont get mushy after an hour of drifing!

best of luck with your drifting

Can you really get through a corner faster drifting, than just driving a line.

usually not, depends on the corner, and what kinda racing. Drifting is used a lot in rally, but the drifting most poepl are talking about these days is done on streets, and it's more show than anything else...

If you have a MK3 turbo, it should have a factory LSD. They will wear out, but you can get aftermarket units from Kaaz, Cusco, and ATS. To make it drift well, you really only need coilovers. 18kg/mm front and 10-12kg/mm rear spring rates are what I'd prefer, but the ride quality won't be GT-like anymore. I also recommend a racing seat as it keeps you firmly planted for better control when you'd normally be leaning against the door panel or center console...

The MK3 is one of the more difficult cars to drift, but it is rewarding when you get it down. Plus you can hop in a 240 or a corolla and within minutes be able to drift it as well as its owner... The major downside is that it does not have the steering angle of most cars, so this is about as extreme an angle as you will get:
