not popular, i was jus one of the originals using that parking lot for drifting
i've been learning drifting for a couple years now even b4 i had my supra even b4 the movie i realized this when i found out i can control my car fishtailing so i kept doing it around corners i ddnt even knew that there was a sport called drifting back then i wasnt watching tv a lot i was in car more that 2/3 of the day, if i wasnt working but i told the kid to go as close you can to the wall and pull the e-brake and yes i did throw him off the cliff basically cuz he did exactly what i had in mind he went close to the wall, he pulled his e-brake, and jus like i predicted, and envisioned, his car went 180' and the rear smashed the wall the funny part, he ddnt even knew what i did to him, cuz he askd me what did he do wrong, so he went for a ride in my car and i showed him how i pull the e-brake i was cracking up inside but i had to hold it in until i left the parking lot

i agree u don't necessarily need a FR car to drift but yanking the E-brake in a FF car just doesnt have the same feeling and i think its harder to control too. i've got an '84 MKII (3300lbs.)with 213k on the pretty much stock (home modified exhaust) 2.8 and as long as u kno how to drive u dont need to pull the E-brake to even get it to kick around i go to lincoln tech in indianapolis and there are a bunch of kids with 180sx, 240sx, 280z, and even a couple of 300z s that are badass and then there is my MkII and 2 MKIII supras and the mkIIIs are a lot bigger all around than my mkII the kids with the nissans like to talk shit about toyotas or did until me and one of the mkIII owners went out with the nissans and my old-ass stock 2.8 5spd MKII kicked the shit out of the nissans and this is on dry pavement and 2 of the 240s have had RB25 skyline engine swaps im just saying if u truly kno how to drive u can do amazing things with any car and screw nissans too, long live the supra!

Just new here... But been drifting my GA70 Supra for around 2 years.... this car is hugely under powered in comparison to ma70's and jza70's, but with a few mods it has enough power.
As long as you learn to use the handbrake and throttle control properly it drifts fine. Also you need some decent Coilovers... I use HSD HR type Competed twice in comp of about 24 cars and got knocked out in tandem battle both times in the top 6. So These cars can drift with the right add ons... Boost, Coilovers, reduce some weight, strut bars... etc |
