Wink Help Me Decide!!!

I currently own a FWD RSX-S, but i have been wanting to get into drifting and its a bit tough with a 200hp, FWD car. Actually, the hp doesnt even matter, because FWD makes it impossible. I am completely new to Supras, and i want to know if you guys think a Supra would be a good car for my application. If i got one i would want a 93-98. Are these reliable cars? What mileage is too high for me to buy a reliable Supra? What supporting mods should i look into? Will about 20,000 get me started? If not, how much should i be expecting to pay before i can have a healthy set-up? Thank you for any answers, and i hope i can soon be a fellow Supra owner

This is the MKIII forums if you want a 93 that's MKIV. I think its not so much the mileage but the mileage to age ratio. My car has 135,000 and its 21 years old this february. The body is in better condition than most cars with 200,000 on it and are only 17 years old. Very little rust. only on the fenders and some suspension parts. OBVO the exhaust and what not but they rust regardless of age

a MKIV handles a little more poorly than t MK3 or so i've heard. If you invest 20k into your RSX it could drift.

LSD is smart so you don't destroy your back end, good suspension. Those $200 a pop "drift" tires don't seem to be cost effective. Low end torque is better than HP. you can spend 100k and still not be satisified. its all what your looking for. REmember upgrading is re-engineering your vehicle and you have to upgrade evenly. More displacement = bigger injectors, fuel lines, regulators, maybe CPU and a buncha other stuff too. Don't neglect one system to any other. stuff like a aftermarket steering pump and new rack system is often overlooked. Supras have infamously leeky steering systems. Don't wast your time with iriduim spark plugs. They only last longer. Its not gonna give you more HP a larger coil and ignighter will only help if your running a different fuel grade. you also need to decide immediately whether or not your going to do forced induction or NA. A NA car needs head upgrades and compression ratio changin pistons and all sorts of crap.

Omg did you jus say if you invest 20k on fwd car it will drift???

Please not this again
But I will say this, that fwd will slide
But it will never drift, unless your a drift god and can control a car's movement inch by inch perfectly
Which I believe will take years to achieve
And probly 100k+ dollars of money
Paying for crashes, tires, fuel, broken parts, tires again, modding the car
Basically its not worth-it

If you really wanna get into drifting
Try to find a car with a close 50-50 balance
This will make it easier to learn with
The mk3 is not that bad, but since its front heavy it tends to pivot in a turn and spin out
But be prepared for a high price
You will spend about 10grand on the rearend alone for your suspension setup
And then you gotta worry about getting power
I'm in the same stage as you are
And money has always stopped me
