well, one speaker is replaced haha. got 4 4" for 30 bucks, yay for sales. unfortunately my dad kinda broke the power lock mechanism, the little box where the white stub on the back of the button now has 3 sides, and the two metal clips that hold the lock moulding into place have to be superglued on because the bent pieces at the end got snapped. other than that, it sounds nice :-D the other one is gonna be a piece of cake...then come the back ones.
where are the back ones anyways, and how do you get to them to replace them?

what i want to know is how to get to the front speakers with out breaking anything.... other than taking off the whole door panel? do you just pop off that cover, when i start prying on it, it feels like its going to break. any info helps guys, actually i have to take it off anyways to replace that thing that stops my door from flying into another car when i open it, but for future reference is there an easier way. thanks in advance.

I'm in the process of replacing my speakers and the stock speakers i found in my 89 supra are 4 inch with tweeters in the doors, 3.5 inch in the back seat and 4.5 inch subwoofers in the boot.
The 3.5 inch aren't easy to come by but you can still find them. Those damn 4.5 subwoofers are a bit of a problem though. |

Not the best picture but you can see the stock 4.5 inch sub in the boot, the 3.5 inch speakers are at the top corners of the back seats right in front of these.
You'll need to remove the back seat in order to remove the side panels so you can get your hands on them. Last edited by rinso; 08-25-2007 at 06:05 AM. |
