still leaking

Posted 09-15-2010 at 03:20 PM by Ranma
My Supra is back at the dealer, they are clueless on what could be causing the leak. They figured out the leak was not from the EGR, there is not much left. I am beginning to think the crankshaft is bent and is creating a vibration making the main seals leak. It is better than the ideal of the kami of Toyoda-sanma in my car. The car did vibrate at high speed operation. Well they got the Supra back again on the back of a tow truck. These guys are clueless

new wheels

Posted 08-31-2010 at 05:11 PM by Ranma
I bought 4 refurbished wheels for my 86.5 Supra. The ones on her came from a different model. I will try to sell them on ebay though have only so much hope to get a decent price. They are worn but in not too bad condition.
I still have not found the oil leak Makes me wonder if the seals installed by Riverside Toyota of Tulsa were installed correctly. Teach me to let other people work on my car. I need to replace the car stereo, someone replaced the stock one with a aftermarket Kenwood....

ready

Posted 08-24-2010 at 02:04 PM by Ranma
Got my Supra back from the dealer, They are real expensive and took their sweet time getting him ready. The correct size tires are 225/50 VR16 and there are proper rims on ebay. They will cost about $100 American a rim.
This leave the paint and trim around the windows. Yes there is minor stuff like the stereo but that can wait.
The front end is real TIGHT, now I have to work on the rear end, any suggestions?

One month later

Posted 08-23-2010 at 07:07 PM by Ranma
My car has been in the hands of the Toyota dealer for a month now. When I first bought it had the entire critical mechanical list fixed. This started with the other tie rods, u joints, clutch (jr did a number to the old one), transmission seals, rear engine seal, replaced the timing belt, with them changing the water pump and the front engine seals. The rocker arm cover seals were changed. Also the power steering pump was rebuilt. Not long afterward the rack in pinion steering blew out draining...

3300 rpm at 75 mph

Posted 06-02-2010 at 06:12 PM by Ranma
I just bought a used 1986 Supra with the 3.0 ltr engine. The car has way too much torque and the speedometer is reading high. I was doing 75 mph indicated and my rpms were 3300. Think the rear end differential was changed. Does this sound plausible? The Toyota dealer is not sure.
