Wait.... what? Are you saying the subs do work part of the time? If the remote/signal line is a gnd input try grounding it to the chassis and see if it functions continuously; And, if it's a positive signal then try connecting it to a full time positive signal.

Post the make and models of what you're running (dammit)...



EDIT: Oh, and the speaker going in and out is more likely bad wiring. If you're using the stock wires for the regular speakers there may be a break in the section which crosses from door to chassis.

You're not using any of the stock wiring for the amp and subs, are you?
