LOL.
You're stuck with the AFM. Unfortunately the car won't run without it, or extensive other mods (read: standalone)
It's easy to work around, so I don't know why it's a big deal. Just put the piping on the adapter that your filter bolts to, then clamp the filter on the end of the piping somewhere behind the fog light.
