I have 1993 supra 3.0 non turbo (manual 5-spd), whilst driving at a steady 60 mph on the motorway, the warning triangle and engine management warning light illuminated, I immediately stopped, switched it off, then restarted and it was ok, but this repeated itself 3 times. following this, the engine cut out without any warning, with no warning lights. The fuel consumption prior to this fault was noticeably increased.
if anyone has any clues please let me know.

many thanks in advance smithen999 ;)

hey :)

have you done a diagnostic yet?

jumper te1 & e1 in the diagnostic box and switch ur ignition on and count the flashes

i would assume mk3 & mk4 are the same

try that and see what ya get and we'll work from there ;)

Hey,

Did this, and the engine management light flashes multiples of 4 - 2.

thanx. ;)

suprra_girl 01-01-2005 02:38 PM

ok so it flashed like this?

flash, flash, flash, flash,,, flash, flash?

if so that's code 42 which is speed sensor signal, does ur speedo work?

smithen999 01-01-2005 02:56 PM

yeah thats it. speedos working fine, it hasn't been converted to mph either.

jump your supra into a dyno and c what happens. if u cant solve it get a pro that can

suprra_girl 02-13-2005 03:14 AM

a dyno will not make any difference to the outcome of his problem...

also have you got a speed cut defencer in there?

what do you mean when you said you haven't converted it to mph yet? where in the world are you?

300hpvision 02-19-2005 04:34 AM

the dyno will allow u to go at high speeds so u can check if anything goes rong. its not 2 solve problems its 2 find them

suprra_girl 02-19-2005 06:07 AM

please

he has a check engine light coming on and you suggest he goes and rapes it on a dyno

if he has one of his speed sensors not connected properly or is not sending the required information vital signals are lost to the ecu and therefore dangerous things can happen
cel problems do not require high speeds or high throttle solutions
