New supra member in Bama!

Whats up, After days of reading all the great info on this site I decided to register. Im not new to the car world but Im extremely new to supra's. Its a whole different ball game from my 99 Z28. Im a regular over on LS1tech. A couple days ago I picked up two 87 turbo supras for $2000. One is 5spd, targa top,new pearl white piant job, clean, no dents or scratches. Perfect body and interior. Of course it has a blown HG. The original owner drove the car for awhile then the HG went. He took it to a mechainc they fixed it and 4-5 days later it was blown again. Im thinking they either used the old tq specs or they crimped the gasket somehow putting it back on. Either way this weekend Im going to do all the test to make sure that it is indeed a HG. Once fixed I dont plan on doing much to it as far as speed/power wise. I just want to make a good DD out of it.

The other one was red, but someone half assed painted it some weird purple color. It has some ugly chrome pacer wheels on it that stick out 2-3in or so. Its not driviable as its missing the A4 trans and couple parts under the hood. Once again this car also has a clean straight non dented body. The interior is red and needs some TLC, some of the dash pieces are missing and etc. I think once I get the white one going, Ill swap the A4 for the 5spd. There is a local junkyard that has an 88 with the trans, wiring harness, pedals and all still in tact. Or I may just pull the motor and keep it to rebuild and part out the car. The turbo and all is still there. Or I my just keep it, incase I ever get hit or anything in the white one for parts. I havent decided yet. The previous owner got it with the white car as a parts car. Either way its still not a bad car.

Ill get some before and after pics up this weekend when I can get them cleand up a bit. They both had been sitting outside for about a year. so they are some what nasty on the outside. At least the targa top's dont leak.
