What is done to your car? It must be fast to have beat an rx8. And i severly doubt he has a stock motor or is running 18 psi. Id say race him him. Honda guys do love to over exhaggerate.

Yea 18 psi is the upper limit with pump gas on an actual turbo motor for a 7MGTE. No way a NA motor will live at 18 psi for long on pump gas.
His 18 psi has to be on race gas or some other means of eliminating/limiting detonation, or he is lying about a stock motor. If he actually has 18 psi, he will beat you but a bad day racing is better than.... |
i didn't hear it directly from him, but thats what has been going around school, umm ya it was my dads car before mine, so he did most of the modifications to it, but all i know is what i typed earlier, but it pisses me off cause i can't get it revved above 6000 rpm without it hitting cut off, do you know what is causing that, can you help me out? im getting a new fuel pump cause thats what my dad says is wrong with it is that its not getting enough fuel to the engine, but idk

No you are probably hitting fuel cut. Toyota has a preset value (that can be fooled with an HKS "FCD" Fuel Cut Defencer) and thats what you are hitting(probably) it usually takes over 16 psi or more to activate this. It is a saftey Totota built into the fuel injection. I have a big t4 and it took 16+ psi to hit mine with a Lexus airflow meter and stock injectors. You should first buy a Wide Band O2 sensor. You will always own it and you cant possibly make an intelligent decision about tuning without it. What Im saying is everything you change to try to get a better tune WILL be a guess without a WB. It seems like a lot of money for someting that dosent make your car faster but you can not make safe tuning decisions without it.
Your dad is wrong about the fuel pump causing your problem. You need an FCD but you shouldnt get one until you have a WB installed first. Read this when you thuroghly understand it then read this last paragraph it will make more sence. I never installed 550's and the lexus AFM worked great with no fuel cut up to 16~17 psi. My Air fuel ratios (AFR's) were perfect and I was safe to go above 17 after a walbro fuel pump, and water/methanol injection. What im saying is you will be safe to go up above 10 psi with an FCD but only if you have a WB and KNOW what your AFR"s are. You will probably only be safe to 16 psi but dont do it until you KNOW your AFR's. The FCD isnt the devil Reg makes it out to be as long as you know your AFR's. That article is kind of dated, if you notice he dosent mention "If you have a WB you can make edcuated decisions!!!" Go ahead and start a thread to ask more questions about this and we will not hyjack this guys thread. |
That and its pretty pointless to go that high anyway. Remember this is a straight 6 with a very long and heavy crank, not a 4 cylinder. Your making all of your power at or before 6000 anyway. And yes i doubt the fuel pump is bad, either your hitting fuel cut off or something of the like. The car would die before 6k if the fuel pump was bad.

A few night ago i pulled up behind a bmw 325i, with a riced out civic next to him. He and the civic guy were talking or something...blah blah. They took off at the green, so did I. The 325 beat the civic, I moved into the right lane, passed the 3 series by 50 mph. The guy looked so mad. He took whatever gear he was in to the rev limiter, So i guess he was rather determined to not be beat. But I still beat him. And then he flew by me ricer style after i put on the brakes anyway. lol. So needless to say, my little mr2 is a bit faster than a 3 series beemer.

Ok a few nights ago
I was on my way home driving west on north avenue Speed limit is 30 and I'm doing 35 Next thing I know I saw a car coming up At least doing 60 So I do what I do best Look for next slow car and drive beside them So I boxed this guy this car I let the other car pass me a little bit And the guy switchd lane, so I speed up a little bit,and edge the slower a bit So he switchd lane again And I did this for at least 3 times and he jus kept doing it Then he started honking his horn and flashing his lights on me and the other car North avenue turns into a 3 laner road So on the next stoplight I saw sum punk driving a white g6 I was jus gonna let it go but, after the light went green I accelerated normally But he floored his car and swerved onto my lane to block me So I switch, so did he And he jus kept blocking me I'm trying to get away bcuz this guy is getting dangerous. The road was still a little damp from earlier snowfall But he was cutting pple off, swerving lane to lane jus so he block me So I got to a stoplight, I really wasn't gonna race him But said told me to get my old piece of shit junk car off the road And this jus pissed me off I waited for a stoplight where there no car Ahead of us I even gave him the jump, By the time I shifted from 1st to 2nd I was leading by a car already, 2nd to 3rd, I had 3-4 cars on him And I jus slowed down on 3rd, I was waiting for him to pull up but he jus kept behind me, when I tought he wasn't gonna pass me, all of a sudden Guess what? I raced a base model cobalt SS, the non SC one, (171 hp 2.4L or something) And we were dead even all the way through 3rd gear. He even shifted at the same times as me. It was pretty cool.
Edit - This was in my 86.5. 5 speed, meinike 2.5" exhaust, magnaflow muffler, And cai with K&N filter. |

Haha, I owned police last night at 3 am. It snowed like 4 or 5 inches here, and me and my friend went to mcdonalds and then were driving around getting sideways and stuff, and 2 cops rolled up on us with theri lights off. My friend (awd eagle talon) just turns down toward my house and runs easily, but I had it a little harder in my mr2. But apparently it can go throw snow better than a cop car! i had it up to 70 mph in the snow lol. But needless to say, the cops couldnt keep up, and we met up later on at my house (my friend, not the cops). Was a pretty big rush, and wish i got a video. They rolled up on us and we couldnt even see them till they were about 100 yards away, and i was like fuck!! and started to go, and then he saw them just after that. lol. I even got a chance to drive the wrong way down 36(4 lane highway) which helped me out a lot cause the cops were hesitant to follow me in the wrong lane, but they did anyway (and for the web police, there was no cars or even plow or salt trucks for milesss, so the only ones in danger were ourselves which doesnt really matter)

standard mods (7MGTE)- full 3" exhaust (no restrictions) with 3" elbow from turbo, K&N pod filter, with cold ducting. Runs mint : )

You said a mitsu vr4 So it could either be the vr4 galant Or the vr4 3000gt Last time I checkd they both have all-wheel drive Its pretty hard to beat awd with our rwd off the line, cuz they're always gonna get the lead from a stand still Unless you jumped you can't beat the vr4 off the line, This is me assuming that this was a streetrace, and both cars were driving with street tires There's only a few situations that a rwd can beat a awd off the line 1 awd ddnt move 2 awd had street tires and the rwd had slicks 3 guy with the awd was a dee dee dee And wasn't paying attention, 4 he had a reaction time of a person with a coma Lol Etc I'm really not trying to talk you down but I have seen a lot of awd vs rwd races If the rwd wins its bcuz of top-end speed |
haha, na he was onto it, and knew exactly what was going on!
To be fair it was more of a rolling start - we were both sitting next to each other at the lights - when they went green we didnt launch off the line, he kept up to about 40 - 50kph, he looked over at me and booted it. My reaction was slower but smoked him none the less. his car was a VR4 legnum wagon btw (galant) he was no competition. True - standing start may have been different story, but i still would have easily caught him. |

I believe supras still hold the bragging rights for that one, since top-end speed is what we can brag about the most But I try to stay away from racing awd cars But I will still race them for fun only!!! |

But if you dont have the torque to make use of the available traction, than you not really at much of a disadvantage in a supra. Turbo 4s dont exactly have low rpm power.

Today I beat a friends Honda Accord auto, 2.3L V-Tech. From a roll at 50mph, I couldnt even count the bus lengths i put on him.
mods on accord: intake 8.5mm accel wires Theres this Neon 2004 that this guy owns, and he talks about how fast it is and talks shit about my car. What kind of mods do you guys think it will take for me to beat him? My friend is going to race him in his 98 Stang GT with an MSD coil and MSD wires and exhaust, automatic, so ill see how he does against the neon. |
Whats with all the oldsmobile and pos 4cyl accord kills, we all know supras will destroy those granny mobiles....If you lost to one of these cars than either A. you don't know how to drive or B. your supra's alraedy got one wheel in the junkyard....

Theres two guys that im racing in my supra, both are 1998 stangs one with full exhaust CAI, and the other one with an MSD Coil, MSD wires, and full exhaust both are auto. Im getting a job this month, so hopefully i can start modding my sup. But for now, im getting my custom intercooler hard piping done this week. |

My first fucking loss today in the supra. I raced Mustang GT auto 1998 from a 50mph roll at first I had him on rear bumper but around 90mph he passed me and put like 1 and a half on me. The second run was like at 65mph but had him on my side but I let off since there was traffic coming. The last run it was like at 25mph I instantly had him on my bumper even though he started first, at around 80mph he put one car and a half length on me and I stopped. This is the first time I loose, I really tought I was going to beat him at least by a freaking car lenght.
My mods: *3" down pipe *Monza catback 2.5" the tips on the muffler are like 1"(was already on car when bought) *no catalyzer. Mustang GT Mods: *full dual exhaust with flowmaster 40 series *Cold air intake *MSD wires Mods to come: Hard pipes for intercooler K&N intake 3" exhaust ^^^You guys think I can beat him with these mods? |
Lots of Kills
Having lived in the Detroit area for a long time I have killed lots of mustangs, especially Moostang Cobras. Now that I live in Vegas, there are lots of Mercedes AMG's, BMW's M3's M6's, most of them I can kill on the freeway above 100mph but a couple of the AMG's have killed me in the 1/2 mile stop light to stop light race. I have to laugh because so many guys are threatened by my Supra and they want to try and dominate it. (I wish I had a $20 for every punk in a WRX or EVOL Who tried to race me)
Even when some $100,000 Mercedes won I chuckled when I think about the fact that my 94TT is stock, has 140,000 miles on it and cost so little to buy and maintain compared to a C600 v12 kompressor Some of my recent kills…. Some guy in a Grand Prix with a super charger--Killed. Neon SRT-4 with Nitrous—Killed, Although it was tough, we got up to 120 neck and neck then he was in my rear view. Charger SRT-8 Killed (2 of those) Mustang V-6 with Nitrous--Killed (he whined that he ran out of nitrous just as I blew by him. Waaaahhhh!) Mercedes C600 v12 Kompressor Killed me off the line then turned off before my #2 Turbo could hit full boost. Mercedes E55 AMG; He got me off the start by 2 car lengths but over 100MPH I left him in my exhaust. Some little V-8 Saaaaaaab who I passed by in the Roundabout, but stayed in my rear quarter up to 100mph then I had to move over in front of him to avoid traffic. So I am grateful for my fast reliable 94TT. |

and i had to rub it in too, passing with both hands in the air then with the " a buh -bye " wave out the targa top as i screamed away happy fathers day ! |
Raced a 2000ish mustang (not a gt) on I-75 and i killed him i let off at 145mph after that was just a waste of time.
