I wouldn't dis you for your choice. A SBC is capable of a lot more performance than the smog-choked stocker. I've seen them punch out over 400 HP N/A with the right mods.

You mean like a carousel or a bird cage? That's the low coolant light. The sensor is in the reservoir. It goes on hopefully before the coolant gets low in the radiator.

I'd test that theory with a fuel pressure gauge before replacing the regulator. However, if the fuel filter is more than 5 years old, or has over 60,000 miles on it, I'd replace that.
