Well, I decided to do a quick swap to check...

Well, I decided to do a quick swap to check whether the cluster housing and such was bad, but the replacement unit I put in displayed the same issues as my original, so I'm (for the moment at least)...

Shifter bushings are worn out. There's two (one for each end of the bolt the shifter rides on) and available from Toyota for a couple bucks. Easy fix.

My 2 cents, don't try. Find a GTE engine in good shape if you must, but turbo'ing a N/A is generally more trouble than it's worth.

You didn't say what kind of swap you had in mind, so I can't really offer an opinion beyond generally tending to favor having it rebuilt by a shop or individual if you can find one which really knows...

That's your #3 gasket leaking in the plug galley. Easy to replace with the OEM gasket, or you can use generic washers/gaskets of a size I can't recall right this moment :o . Just pull the bolts...

The stock torque rating was always too low, resulted in the 7M getting a not totally undeserved reputation for bhg's. 72 is a much more reliable torque for the headbolts.

Power steering cooler line. In pre-89's it's just the line going out in front of the radiator and returning, but iirc in the 89+ Supra's there's a couple of lines or a small cooler in the circuit.
