Never had the problem and not even sure how to fix it but you should go look for a manual and check all the sensors, fuses, and relays. I'm assuming the supra runs on an electric tach gauge?

I'd say don't go pass the stock boost gauge. I've ran my supra up to 12 psi stock but don't try it unless you want to replace your engine.
