ok, well that helps me out a little bit, but will i hurt the engine bad if i dont hook it up? or, if i leave it off, is there a way i can just bypass it??

Me and my brother are rebuilding our 87 supra. We both have no clue on what exactly the charcoal canister does for the vehicle. Can someone please explain it for us, and let me know if there is a way...
