is hks the best out there for a turbo? i heard so... also what does a turbo ACTUALLY do? i only know it has something to do with air and that WOOSH sound after u switch gears. lol

You are talking about the BLOW OFF VALVE which allows extra pressurized air to escape when shifting to prevent damage to the engine and turbo system. A turbo is a forced air induction system. It forces more air into a cylinder which means that more fuel get's added, and then when you have more air and more fuel, you get a larger explotion which powers the engine much more. With a Turbo-charged engine the power to weight ration increases. It forces air into the engine by the exhaust, which spins a turbine inside the turbo that spins an air pump which then pushes air into the engine, and so on. With a turbo-charger, your car will take in 50% more oxygen then it used to. Problem is, your Gas Mileage is going to suck.........
