jumping the border
i just recently bought a engine and trans from canada and they just recieved my payment today. he calls me up so i can repeat my info and then he asks for my social securtiy #. He told me it was for customs so they know were the engine is going. So like a piece of shit i told him without thinking twice. Is this true that he needs my ss# and if its not what should i do to protect myself? Im only 15 so i dont think he will be able to use it yet but what happens in 3 years? thanks for the help and save the "you fucked up" comments. thanks

by the way he knows my address and my full name.
Sounds like BS my friend. How did you pay for the engine? And did you pay a company or a person? Call these guys: (202)354-1000 or 1-877-CBP-5511 Monday-Friday, between 8:30 and 5:00 Eastern Time. They'll answer your question. It's border patrol customer service.
i made the cashiers check out to a company
Well call one of the numbers I gave you before. They are tied in with national security. So if the guy wanted your SS# to steal your identity, they will do something about it. I'd call ASAP just in case.
yeah im calling today
yeah they said that they dont need it and all i can do is pull up a credit report every few weeks but what about my bank accounts?
i did something similar. my mom called a company, and they put a freeze on my credit so if anything on it changes, it will be flagged and looked into. sucks about your money, hope it all works out for you
So what happend?
engine is coming on monday between 8am-5pm and i locked my bank accounts and he really cant do much with my credit because im only 15 but once i turn 18 im ganna get my credit flaged as well. im going to call the transportion comp. tommorow and see if they used my ss# to cross the border quicker.
oh good so he didnt take your money and ss# for nothing. hate seeing people get scammed, especially after it happened to me

Looks real clean, Im glad you got it.
and you got the tranny, good deal. when i got mine, the fan had already broken a blade... your lucky
the only problem i see is that the power steering pump is bent and the exhaust bolts are stripped almost to a circle
iirc exhaust has studs, not bolts
my mistake
If the 3 nuts holding the downpipe onto the O2 housing are stripped to a circle like you said (you have to be a real dummy to do that, not saying you, but the people that shipped it to you) then take off the 4 nuts holding the O2 housing to the turbine housing. They are 14mm and use some penetrating oil on them. Work them back and forth so you don't snap the studs, because they will be partly seized, I can bet you that.
And I saw your post for parts wanted, and I saw your bent power steering reservoir line. That is not your pump, the pump has the belt on it. |
yeah i realized that to im going to fix that
