my friend has a car and the fabric that lines the roof is coming off whats the best way to fix it without having to go to a mechanic.

pull the roof lining off and get some (here we have) Ados F2 glue... pull the lining off carefully or lift back the parts where it's not sticking and spray the hell out of it and stick it back down
use a roller or something to try and take the wrinkles out as you glue it

that's my suggestion anywayz :)

its an old car and it has like this yellow padding which is really loose i dont think glue will hold it together to well. any other suggestions like if i just took down the fabric and padding and put something new on?

go to a fabric shop and buy some new foam, take all the old stuff off the old lining and put the new stuff on then glue it

how would you put the new stuff on??

the new foam is a good idea i have had to replace head liners in a few car and it isnt all that hard to do i havnt head of the other glue the f2?? or whatever it was but i have alwas had good luck with a 3m spray glue most parts stores carry it but when you glue it together spray the to surfaces that are going to be glue together let it drie until it is drie to the touch the stick it together it is best to have a friend help cus once it sticks together it is hard to get back apart without having it start over and if you have it apart you might as well have some fun and customize it get some of that 1/4 inch foam craft poster board walmart usaly has it and cut out a cool pattern and glue it between the headliner and the fabric but make sure to cut all the sides at an angle or the fabric wont lay out right i did a toyota emblem it looks prtty cool i will try and post a pic for you to look at
