i heard a bout a misfiring system. all i know about it so far is that it makes it have fire come out of the muffler. i only have a couple questions:

does it come with a turbo? (or most)
does it need a turbo to use it?
is it good for your car?
what exactly does it do?
will it only work for certain cars?

i'm not sure what they call the system but i believe it consists of a spark plug and injector plugged into the rear of the exhaust... hit the button... fuel sprays in... spark plug ignites and wahooo flames

fast and furious styles

you hit a button? i dont think so. its in wrc cars. my dads friend (my dad use to be a race car fan *GASP*) has a wrx and he had it. i asked him and he said he didn't know because he always had that red firebird. *sigh* he coulda been an import fan...

and the one your talking about suprra is nitrous oxide system. i'm talking about misfiring. either way i still learned something

dude.... that is not nos i'm talking about!!! sif nos is in the exhaust c'mon
if nos is used at idle... there won't be much of the engine left.. i've seen this happen a couple of times

with regards to wrc cars.. it's their tuning with antilag, but cars on the street that have it.. do as i described, you can leave it on or off... leave it on you will constantly get the flames

wow i'm sorry. thats cool. i want it. is it legal? my dad said its loud and if i get it he will woop my ass... so i'll get it and turn it off (disguise it as my emergency lights. just like fast and the furious)

misfiring system just keeps the motor boosted, i only know of turbo cars that have this system, they use them a lot in wrc, its also called a bang-bang system, the way it basically works is that when a the turbo spools up it creates boost and when the foot is lifted off the throttle there is a bleed in boost via blow-off valve and wastegate, this is when the misfiring system comes into play, the system plays with the timing of the motor where it injects extra fuel and a spark plug is fired in teh manifold, this extra burst of exhaust gas keeps the turbine spinning therefore still creating boost when teh foot is lifted off the throttle, this elminates turbo lag when shifting, or braking, its basically like left foot braking where you prevent boost bleeding, the flames only come out because the burnt exhaust gas is ignited causing combustion, this system is not good for your car, it ruins your exhaust system from the headers down to the muffler since the heat is soo high, the system is usually run by a special ecu that plays with the timing of the of the motor, there is a button where u can have it on or off, but its not good for the motor for lonng periods of time, it messes up the the exhaust system, ive never seen or heard of a misfiring system on a n/a car, hope this answers some questions

so its sorta like burning fuel faster right? sounds great im getting me one

SupraMan1784 06-20-2005 05:37 AM

yea i guess its sorta like burning fuel faster, i know that you run the car a lot richer than normal, the misfiring system is illegal on the streets but u can use it offroad, sometimes you might see people with fire comin out their tailpipes, but thats because of engine timing, if u retard the timing enough you will create a late spark therefore allowing a late burn in fuel and causing the flame, i think you can do this with a bunch of ems's, but basically...if you have a misfiring system for hte streets, you must have a lot of money to keep replacing the whole exhaust system you keep torching every 50-75 miles that you use it, but then again...it is a great tool to have while racing

nice ninja. hiding from the po-po's  . i wouldn't use it unless i'm gonna race but it sounds fun so im gonna put a hardcore on in my supra (if i get one) and wen i get in the track ima make sure i win

SupraMan1784 06-26-2005 06:46 AM

thanks, it would be a lot more effective on the track rather than the street so you definitely are heading in the right direction
