Ignition Coil or Igniter?

Is the ignition coil and the igniter the same thing? I'm talking about an N/A. The thing that sits behind the "diagnostics" box. Also, when checking resistance with ohm-meter, should car be running, not running with key turned to "on" position or not running no key? Also while I'm here, when setting throttle position sensor with ohm-meter, car running or off? Thanks guys.

Ohm meter never used with ignition, or car power ON. Meter has a battery in it to use when checking ohms resistance values.

Coil has the single sparkplug wire coming out of it, that goes to the distributor cap.

Ignitor is mounted under the coil.

Once again

Thank you for helping out an electrical "newbie". I do feel I'm starting to learn a lot more about how this engine functions and the EFI system. That is mostly due to the folks on this site being generous with their years of experience and also to studying that TSRM. If there are other folks out there who want to know more about their cars, I can not emphasize how much that TSRM will help you.
