I have a 1991 supra turbo auto......

Getting an engine rattle between 1800 - 2500 rpm... a very raspy mechanical rattle at that.... it then disappears after this point (or is lost in the noise of the engine). The engine idles fine and some times the rattle is worse than others - the engine also 'taps' a little, but nothing major, and certainly i think there is no loss of power..... could this be signs of a big-end going? if not then anyone know what?
