TPS Question
I plan to buy a new throttle position sensor for my 89 NA. One of the plastic elliptical holes broke where you screw it onto the throttle body and it moves around somewhat. Here is what I would like to know. When I buy it, do I just screw it on right out of the box or does it need to be "callibrated" or something? I would think it would be shipped with the correct resistances and all but hey, you never know. Anyone out there want to tackle this one for me?

Not enough helpers
Hey. I deleted "No Reply", as it was a duplicate post.
I've noticed that there are not many that answer the questions. I think some of our experts are taking a break, or busy (like suprra_girl). As you can tell, I am here every night. It cold out there, and its cold in the repair shop all day, so I am in my room at night. But one day I'll get a new girl friend, or a new toy, and then I too will be too busy. The TPS comes ready to go out of the box. Carquest: THROTTLE POSN SENSOR 7MGE ENG w/TBI TO 3/89 1989 ECC 71-7856 SENSOR List $148.420 Shop $81.433 Made by Wells. A good company. You will need to make the adjustments. Follow the TSRM. FI-103 |
Thanks Mr.Nick
I got a quote of about $100 from our local auto parts store and they usually sell Wells sensors. You say Wells is good? I know the Toyota Dealer will probably be close to double.
