engine management light

my newly acquisitioned supra has two problems ,first when it is cold it has an uneven tickover the revs will rise for a few seconds and then fall again,any ideas on that one .Second problem is that the engine management light comes on when you apply the power and then goes off when the engine is powered off any help will be appreciated . The car is a non turbo 3.0
