car died
 

ok here's the deal i just got of the e way and as soon as i put it in neutral
the car died on me

i was pushing 80 and tht was it
now im stuck in a parking garage illegally

and the car wont start
im using my friends computer to type this

anybody got any idea whats causing this
and p.s. everytime i try to start the car
smoke billows out of the turbo

help asap

It doesn't sound pretty whatever it is.You should have it towed home before it gets taken to a impound.I doubt your gunna get it going again without some wrench time.Sorry about your luck :dunno:

it workd after it cooled down and it happend again on my way home
the car shuts down everytime it heats up

there's two places that the smoke is coming from
underneath the turbo
and in front of the engine right by where the fan is

car has a high idle of 1500 rpms

I had an engine spin a bearing once ,and it would only run when it was cool.Apparently the heat expansion would lock the engine up.Mabey you are getting something similar in your turbo.As with anything turbo related from me ,that's just a guess.

I've had similar problems to where my car would only start when it was cool and it would shut off when it heated up. The problem was caused by distributor(coil).

yea but when u had the problem, did it include smoke coming out from under the turbo?

Nope, no smoke under the turbo.

right now, im trying to work out the code issues out
then, ill get to the turbo

now i see why he gave me a repair manual with the car
cuz i would be using it pretty soon

Cuttoff When Warmed Up.
 

YES MY 1987 SUPRA TURBO SAT FOR 1YEAR, IT STARTED UP AND CUTTOFF ON ITS OWN, I THOUGHT MAYBE OVERHEATING I CHANGED THE THERMOSTAT AND POWER MANAGEMENT RELAY, NO CHANGE WHEN IT WARMED UP IT CUTTOFF , UNTIL IT COOLED DOWN, DEALER CHANGED THE FUEL PUMP , NO CHANGE IN IT MONDAY MORNING I WILL GIVE THEM THIS INFO MAYBE COIL, OR ENGINE BEARING WISH ME LUCK.
