Help PLEASE Supra Wizards!!!!

I need to know if you can test a Max air flow sensor? What does the car do when they are going bad?

See, My car (a 1987 According to the title) With a 7M-GE seems to run good till you run it hard. Then what seemed good gets blown away because it suddenly kinda like cutting out but is actually getting more power. No Turbo for those who had that answer.

It runs pretty good over all. When I accelerate hard it seems that something opens or kicks in thats not normally there. but does not happen suddenly. Its almost like it has a miss and gets better. Its sputtering but getting stronger with each little stutter.

Whoops, hit edit on your post instead of quote.

Please state your concern/question in different words so I can follow you.

i would do a diagnostic first, read your codes then post them here

2nd: the best place on earth for the supra learning and diagnosis... www.cygnusx1.net/supra :D

Ok, so it sounds like you may have a misfire. Spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor.

It may also be a partially plugged fuel filter.

All of these is easy & cheap to change.

If it still acts the same, fuel pressure too low, or dirty injectors.

Puts 2 cans of TECHRON in a full tank and drive, to help clean injectors. See if it improves.

I need a little help with diagnosis please!

I got three codes, It seems the ECU is a common link to all three. So I gues Thats where I will start!

Rob420 10-03-2006 09:10 PM

Oh yeah

Codes #24,41,51

seems like your 02 sensor wires have melted somewhere, check the wires right up to the plug and make sure they're good

did you have a/c on when you did the diagnostic?

Rob420 10-05-2006 11:06 PM

at first I did then I turned it off. I did it a couple times and got the same response each time.I will check those wires!

Rob420 10-06-2006 07:54 PM

Gettin somewhere

After playing with some wires and what not, I reset my battery and now just get code 51 so I will be replacing the throttle sensor I gues to see if that fixs the last of my problems. Thanks for the help and info all!
