Custom

Your best bet would be to get a custom one made at your local muffler shop. If the shop offers custom exhaust...then you can get them to weld, and bend your tubes to spec. Just remember to know what look you are wanting, and also have the width, height...length...all that stuff.

Yeah, nothing like a crush bent 18awg "roll cage" doing more harm than good in an accident situation.

Try http://www.autopowerindustries.com/

since you are not looking for a rollbar for safety, im not dissing you

but PVC piping then jus paint it, it would make it so much easier for you

oh yeah, that's a wicked good idea.... if you're running water through the car.

seriously, that helped none. if i ever saw a PVC roll cage, I'd probably shit. right there next to the car.

dont even think about making that pvc pipe roll cage. ppl will find out and make fun of you.
you will especially notice where you connect the pipes. or the first time if falls apart. lol.

while your running water through the pvc it can be like an extra cooling system

dont take it the wrong way, since your not looking for a rollbar for what it actually does,

this way it'll cut your cost , since safety isnt your concern,
if you do a good job .anybody jus looking wont be able to tell the diffrence, since its jus for looks, not for touch right lol

I honestly think that if he is just going for asthetics, than PVC WOULD work. It would look like some hick job, but would work. And when I said to go to a mufler shop....I don't mean krinkl bent...cut, and welded or mandril bent. It wouldn't cost much more than an exhaust system. I have seen it done, and my bro did one for a guy (My bro works at Minute Muffler). The rollbar looks great, however offers no structural stability in a roll over...infact it's dangerous, because the weld WOULD break, well more than likely...and then you have 1.5-2.5 foot steel bars flying around your car...oh yeah, they have sharp edges too......I would just go for an actual roll bar, or if you know someone that is DAMN good at welding....then mathimatically make one, make sure it is safe, and then there you go, you'll have one for the cost of material...and maybe beer.

supra90turbo 07-13-2006 01:53 AM

Yeah. Beer...
I can't think of anything better to do while welding an integral portion of the chassis rigidity structure than get drunk in the process. That cage oughta turn out mint.

Muffler shop: wrong-o.

Your brother's buddy or whatever is a dumbass.
Anyone who makes a faux cage, or anything for that matter that imitates something found on a race car, is a ricer. Through and through.
