a friend wants to supercharge his supra

I am trying to help a friend out by trying to get some info on supercharging his supra.
I have been around the net all i can find is go turbo.
He is determined to supercharge,So far all i can suggest is to use a centrifigal supercharger and fab up mounting brakets.
His car is a third gen i think he said 1987 n/a.
any help would be great.

Performance is on his mind but i think he is going for the look and to be different.

why a supercharger? a turbo is much superior than a supercharger, its not like his engine cant handle a turbo?

wont fabricating more stuff cost more than a bolt on turbo kit?

theres nothing wrong with supercharding his 87, they both have their advantages. id love to do that to my na. the only problem i see is where to mount it. only 3 mounting locations and two are necassary: power steering and alt. people who get the front facing intake manifolds move their alts to the ac pump location with an altered bracket.

I dont know why he wants to supercharge

all i know is he will probally end up doing it
he is that determined.

there is a few of us that have supercharged cars and are pretty much maint free.

he has seen in the past some of our friends with turbos having a lot of tuning issues.

Just my two cents (or 1.6 cents if you covert that to US funds...lol)

Alright, well I just want to say that this will probably end up being one of those...."Oh shit, I have to make almost everything myself" projects. However, I don't see any problem in this actually WORKING.

Like it has been said, you could have to make custom mounting brackets, and finding a proper belt to drive that would be another task. Ontop of that, you need room for that new belt, and I don't know anything more in this subject, so I will just leave it at that.

Don't think this has help'd anyone, but I wanted to say SOMETHING.....

calm down bro,

were us discussing it, jus questions and suggestions
no harm done to anybody..... yet lol

but i was reading about this and supercharger does have its perks
one important thing is the emisions, cuz they spill out less toxic air than a turbo
they're easier to turn street legal

im thinking of getting a jdm 1jzgtte or if im lucky a jdm 2jz but the problem is those engine has twins and none of the emissions goodies, so im looking at running with 3-4 cat converters so i can make my car street legal

but you produce more horses with a turbo, if tuned right

so i cant really tell which one is better cuz i dunt have either and i am going to get a turbo so i am in favor of the turbo

and unless i get both of them in my car and do a lab-reseach on them i really cant tell which one is better
