Ah...the ridgecrest (china lake). Way out there, man. Been ALL over this desert from tahoe to santa clarita. me Lancaster. And I know where every good water fall and swimming hole is,too.

And in colder climates like my winter, it can and does freeze overnight, I run 10w-40.

So then you must know where the water slides are up on the Kern? used to be my favorite place to go. I owned a 4x4 then and know all the "goat trails" up there around kennedy meadows.

anyway, I now return this thread to your regularly scheduled program

to add a little bit, The thing i dont like about oil additives, is there is absolutley no way to prove or disprove that they work or not. Unless you take like 50 brand new cars, additive of choice in 25 of em, and drive them 200k miles on a dyno, same temp, same climate, all that fun stuff. And then youd have to take each engine apart and micrometer everything inside. If i had a few million id set it up.

Except for the oil leak stoppers and stuff like that. I mean like slick 50 and prolong and all that wonder crap that gives you 30% more mileage and better power and all that. I also just thought of a way those 30% more mpg fuel additives could work, take a gallon of gas, put in a quart of fuel additive, and drive, but do the math for one gallon of gas and you instanly have 25% more mileage than with no additive :)

Snake oil!
All of them. Stay away. If your engine's leaking oil or burning oil, fix it right or don't fix it at all.

Good advice :)
