A 7MGE is the nonturbo engine. A 7MGTE is the turbo engine. A 2JZGE is a nonturbo engine. A 2JZGTE is a twin turbo engine. A 1JZGE is a nonturbo engine. A 1JZGTE is a twin turbo engine. Now that we have that out of the way, you have a few engines to choose from. A 7MGTE would be the cheapest to swap in. Then the 1JZGTE and then the 2JZGTE being the hardest and most expensive being that these engines never came in the MKIII (1986-1992) Supras. My setup will make about 550-600 HP. And the list is as follows

Engine

Full Ferrea Valve Train
Pauter Rods
JE Pistons
AEM Cam gears
Clevite 77 Bearings
HKS 1.2 MM MHG
ARP Head Studs
ARP Rod Bolts
Port and Polish Head
Front Facing Intake Manifold
Infinity Q45 Throttle Body

Fuel

Aeromotive A1000 Fuel Pump
Aeromotive FPR Kit
680cc Injectors
LIPP High Flow Fuel Rail

Cooling/Intake

Apexi Intake Filter
PWR Water/Air IC
Cooleze intercooler piping/Blitz BOV
Flex-A-Lite Dual Fans
Fluidyne Radiator

Turbo

BOSS GTS67 Dual Ceramic Ball Bearing 700HP

Clutch/Flywheel

Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel
Clutchmasters Stage III Clutch

I've put a lot of research into this. Coming up with mods that will suit my needs. Some things might change when I'm done but probably not many. But FIRST AND FOREMOST, GET YOUR CAR RUNNING IN THE BEST CONDITION POSSIBLE.

what car did the 1jz's come in cus doesnt the mk4 come with the 2jz's?

suprra_girl 06-19-2006 11:08 AM

little mor input might be needed

Ok now we have the engine codes under control it still leave the ? how hard is it to swap a 2jz into a mkIII supra. i know someone must have done it and if not well i guess i might have to just try it and see what happends $ isnt going to be a problum, i am willing to spend it. but if there is a cheeper what to get 600 horse out off a mkIII can somone point me in that direction

FYI i have seen complete 2jzgte enegine and tranny on ebay for 4 to 5000

There really is no cheap way to get to 600. So you will be spending the money. Theres no doubt about that. Once again, I stress, this is an old car. Take care of it before doing mods. Sure, people have done the 2JZ swap. There is going to be lots of fabrication needed. You'll need to bang the firewall in to get the rear turbo to fit, you'll need to cut a piece of the frame where the stick shift comes up thru into the cab, you'll need to redo the wiring harness, make new motor mounts, and many more.

This is a 2JZ in an MKIII with a single turbo swap

Ok Now we are making head way. ok now here is the low down on my idea. pull the 7MGE and auto get ahold a 2jzgte and a 5 speed, conver to single trubo and put 10,000 in the motor and tranny that should get me near 600 hp then another 5 to 10,000 in the suspention and body basicly there is a 32 hudson with a 8-71 blower on a 502 an well i want to beet him so now that you see the plan what do you think.
