Question to N/A owners
I recently changed my valve cover gaskets on an 89 N/A Supra. After I got the throttle body and part of the intake off I had full access to the plugs. Now here we go. Right behind the 6th plug (last in line) is a hex shaped indentation. It sinks down about a 1/4 inch and then there is a threaded hole in the center, as if something belongs there. Mine is empty and open. Does anyone know what is supposed to be there? Should I plug the hole with a bolt? Any ideas would be welcome. I think Mr.Nickleye might be able to answer this one, as he seems to do a lot of work on N/A's but if anyone can help me I'd appreciate it. Thanks guys.

More infor
I checked the cygnus parts blow up diagram for cylinder head and saw what may be what I'm looking for. It was part 1117G: Plug w/ head straight screw, #3. But looking at a diagram and the actual engine are two different things. Did I find what this is and do I need it? Or do I need more help.

Well...I saw that on my 89 when I did the BHG. Nothing was in the threaded hole, so I lefyt it alone. Perhaps it was there for factory install of head on block?? To hang head from chain or something.
Interesting picture. |
Re: Threaded Hole
Thanks Mr.Nickleye, now I know just to leave it alone. I had a feeling you'd have an answer for me.
